On Sept. 21, 2023, the Central Virginia Chapter welcomed new and old Fulbrighters at our fall social event.
New Fulbrighters in attendance were:
- Ajit Singh from India (studying Numbers Theory in the Department of Mathematics at UVA)
- Marvin Hirt from Germany (studying Public Policy at UVA)
- Agostina Gairoli from Argentina (studying criminal law at UVA’s law school)
Pin-Chao Wang, who arrived last year as a Fulbrighter from Taiwan, also joined us again.

At the event, which was held on the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Board Member James Arnold, a professor of French at U.Va. and a Fulbright Scholar to France, gave a presentation on Piracy in the Caribbean.
We had a brief board meeting prior to the event. As Chapter President Fred Borch reported, “A wonderful time was had by one and all – plenty of food and drink and conversations!”
