You can join our chapter by becoming a member of the national Fulbright Association, which represents the 140,000 U.S. alumni of the Fulbright Program — including hundreds in Central Virginia. The association is dedicated to promoting the flagship program for international education and cultural exchange; enriching the experiences of visiting Fulbright students, teachers, and scholars in their host communities; and fostering a global network of Fulbright alumni.
The Fulbright Association offer several levels of individual membership. When you join or renew your membership, you will be asked to select the membership type that best describes your status.
- Standard individual membership – $80/year: For those who have received a Fulbright scholarship and wish to pay on an annual basis.
- Newly returned alumni: Free for the length of and up to one year after the completion of first Fulbright program. (A credit card is required to get the first year free.)
- Young professionals – $30/year: For Fulbright alumni age 34 or younger who wish to pay on an annual basis.
- Seniors – $30/year: For Fulbright alumni age 65 or older who wish to pay on an annual basis.
- Lifetime Membership – $1,500: For individuals who wish to have a lifetime membership in the Fulbright Association. This option never requires renewal, and payment may be divided into three annual installments of $500.
Our group is one of about 60 local chapters across the United States. Local chapters provide Fulbright alumni and visiting Fulbrighters with diverse opportunities for networking, professional development, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and community service.
